In the 1980s, Chew Koh stopped his farming and outsourcing activities to buy
live chickens from the open market in Malaysia for distribution to wet market
stalls in Singapore. This strategy not only yielded a steady supply but also
eliminated the risk of oversupply of live chickens often associated with farming.
